Since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, the number of abortions in the United States is nearing 50 million. If the federal government begins funding abortions, that number will soar.

Stupak--A Bid for Governor?

According to The Detroit News, U.S.Representative Bart Stupak (Michigan) is considering a run for governor of Michigan. Stupak, whose amendment to prohibit federal funding of abortion was added to the House health care bill, is the leader of a small group of pro-life Democrat representatives who are insisting that Stupak-like language be included in the final health care bill. Stupak reported to the New York Times that he and this small group are ready to vote "no" on the final health care bill if it funds abortion. Please continue to pray for Representative Stupak and the 10 - 12 pro-life Democrats who are standing with him. May Stupak's interest in running for governor of Michigan not sidetrack his determination to resist public funding of abortion. He has emerged as the leader of pro-life Democrats in the House. May he continue to be active in stopping federal funding of abortion.

May God have mercy on our nation.
